Holyrood U14s v Craigmount (4-17)
The new squad of Under 14s saw
their first match against Craigmount High School. With Rachel
and Cat
still fast asleep at their sleepover the others managed to keep
a strong defense until they arrived at half time with a score
of 2 goals to 8. A few changes after the first half and the score
gap increased to 4-17. However, the final quarter saw 2 very
strong defensive teams and neither managed to reach the net,
leaving the final score of 4-17 to Craigmount. Holyrood did extremely
well in their first game of the season with the player of the
match going to Layla with her numerous interceptions and rebounds
throughout the game! Well done Holyrood!!
Holyrood Babes v Corstorphine (21-9)
The Holyrood Babes have made
their coach proud with their first win of the season! They beat
Corstorphine
very convincingly by 21 goals to 9! All girls played brilliantly
and took the court with determination to make this a match to
remember. There were some fantastic interceptions, passing up
the centre court, resulting in goal after goal to reach 21 in
total! Well done to all girls. They have come on so well
since September!
The proud Babes after their win!!

Holyrood Primary 7 Tournament
On Saturday, Holyrood's junior
club hosted a tournament at the Pleasance for primary school
girls in Edinburgh. We had 9 teams, with girls from 8 different
schools - approx 80 participants altogether, and used funding
from Sportsmatch so the players didn't pay anything to take part.
The junior club (Jo, Dianne, Lyndsay and Katherine Connor) would
like to thank Pennie, Pam and Cat for their help on the day.
Everyone seemed to have a really good time - and hopefully we'll
have a lot of the girls coming along to join the junior club
after summer. In fact, we think it was such as successful advert
for the club that we think we'll need some extra coaches next
season. If anyone is interested then please get in touch simpson.jo@googlemail.com
- (absolute beginners at coaching and umpiring are more than
welcome).
